The Twitter Mandela Hall Of Shame
Self reblog from last year. Still worth reading. Still remembering.
Today is the anniversary of the Montreal Massacre.
I will not forget.
isn’t it creepy that from the day you are born you start to die
'Happiness' is such an overrated thing. I have doubts that it exists at all, as we think of it. To feel happy is a blip on the mind, which soon moves on to other things.
Our culture pursues permanency it can’t have: in love, resource, happiness.
I shall have human experience, and I want it forever.
Elephant and Castle (2013) by Sarah Cole
The view from the back dining room of famous coffee shop The Elephant House, Edinburgh, where J. K. Rowling would spend much of her time in the early 1990s because it was cheaper than heating her house.
The first fragments of Harry Potter’s tale were scribbled on napkins while she sat here, sipped coffee, and gazed at Edinburgh Castle perched on the mountain.
Nearby is a historic cemetery, Greyfriars Kirkyard, which she would stroll through on the way home. There are gravestones with the names McGonagall and Potter, and one Thomas Riddell.
